Quick Post about She Sells Seashell links

For those who have had a hard time downloading the She Sells Seashells kit, I just broke it up into lots of little links. (Normally my folders are about 50 MB a piece, and these ones are about 15 MB a piece, so it should be better for those of you with a slower internet connection). Updates on friends with hardships...

I just have a few minutes to do a quick post. I glanced at the comments tonight and noticed Paula Gale from the UK left one wondering how the people I have posted about in previous posts are doing. I will write about 3 of them at this time:

1) Brittany Schramm is the most recent. She is the one who had a bike accident in April. I personally do not know her. She is a friend of a friend. But I have been keeping up with her story. (You can actually see her updates on Facebook if you look her up under Brittany Nielsen Schramm). She has been doing a lot of physical therapy. So far, the equipment she uses for therapy does the work for her. She is not able yet to move her legs by herself. But she keeps such a positive attitude and smiles in all of her pictures. Her sense of humor is hilarious. On Facebook one of her posts said this:

"Today is my first time flying on an airplane since the accident. I'm actually looking forward to abusing my handicap privileges like boarding first. I'm also looking forward to the thorough pat down I'll receive since I can't go through the metal detector."

I thought that was hilarious! And then this one was cute too:

"I'm so glad I married a man that is so capable who can cook, clean, do laundry, and take care of the kids, otherwise we'd be screwed."

Love it!

2) Kari has found love again. Her husband had been tragically killed while camping. It was stormy one night and the wind knocked a tree on top of the tent that took his life leaving Kari to raise 3 young children.

Well, this past April she was married again to a man named Donny who completely worships her and absolutely loves her children. Kari is one of my sister's dear friends, and my sister says that Donny is such an amazing man and he will love and cherish and take care of that sweet family who has suffered so much heartache. Here are some pictures from their wedding day:

3) And finally Baby Bree...only Bree is not a baby anymore. She is an active, beautiful and healthy 4 year old!

If you remember Baby Bree, she was diagnosed with the highest stage of Neuroblastoma Cancer at the age of 7 months old. Well, as of this past May 27th she has been in remission for 3 years!!!! She is such a beautiful little girl with 3 other brothers. She definitely has to be strong to fend for herself with all those boys! Here is a recent picture of her:

I have thanked you in the past and I will do it again. Thank you for all who have donated to these families. I love knowing that there is so much good in the world and so much love and support that even strangers give to one another. Even though my family is my top priority and I don't get to do much with this blog, no matter what, I have always felt love from all of you. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

She Sells Seashells kit

Hello friends! I hope your summer is going well. I have been enjoying having my kids home from school and not waking up to an alarm clock (well, on most days that is).

When I think of my favorite summertime memories, they involve summers spent with my family at a rented beach house. My siblings and I loved to collect seashells, build sand castles and even stick our hands way down deep in the sand to feel little white things try to crawl out (I think they were little crabs). I would love sleeping upstairs where we could open the windows and listen to the ocean waves rock us to sleep.

This kit brings back a little of that nostalgia for me. I hope you enjoy it as well as the rest of your summer!
